Postsecondary Education Readiness Test (P.E.R.T.)
The P.E.R.T. is Florida’s new common placement test developed to align with the Postsecondary Readiness Competencies identified by Florida’s faculty as necessary for success in entry level college credit coursework. There are three P.E.R.T. subtests used to determine college readiness: reading, writing, and mathematics. Each subtest is a computer-based, computer-adaptive, and untimed 30-item test.

As a result of House Bill 1255, all Grade 11 students who scored:
• Level 2 or 3 on the Grade 10 FCAT 2.0 Reading will be required to take the P.E.R.T. Reading and Writing subtests
o Exclude students with at least a score of 440 on the SAT Verbal or 17 on the ACT English, and 18 on the ACT Reading.
• Level 2, 3, or 4 on the Grade 10 FCAT Mathematics will be required to take the P.E.R.T. Mathematics subtest
o Excludes students with at least a score of 440 on the SAT Math or 19 on the ACT Math.

To assist schools in identifying students who are required to take the P.E.R.T., an EDW report has been developed for your use, Students Required to Take PERT- RTTYA0517.
The P.E.R.T testing window opens on March 12, 2012 and extends through June 7, 2012.

End-of-Course Diagnostic Data is Here!
The End-of-Course (EOC) Diagnostic data is now available! The EOC Diagnostic Diamond Report – RTSDA0474 contains results for Algebra, Geometry, and Biology for grades 6 through 12. As seen below, this report is similar to the Diagnostic Diamond Report – RTODA0173 and shows the same column titles. If the school level is viewed, this report shows a comparison of school results to district results. If the grade level is viewed, this report shows a comparison of grade level results for the same grade level to district results. It also contains drill-throughs to more detailed information.

Where can I find my students’ EOC Diagnostic scores?
In New EDW, look for the Accountability Math Profile – RTSFM0281 and the Accountability Science Profile – RTSFS0332. These reports will contain the EOC T-scores of all of the accountable students—students who were present in both FTE Surveys (October and February). Classroom teachers can find students’ scores in EDW for Teachers in the Math Profile (Most Recent) – RTSOM0037 and the Science Profile – RTSFS0121.

Using the SSAASY FCAT Coaching Action Plan as a Motivational Tool
Using the SSAASY FCAT Coaching Action Plan with your students can serve as a source of last minute motivation. Review last year’s FCAT Levels and set goals for this year’s assessment. Discuss with students their challenges, distractions, and test taking anxieties. Coach them on test taking strategies. Emphasize their strengths. This EDW form can be a valuable tool in the few weeks before the FCAT.
