Forest Rose Named Employee of the Month
This month’s Employee of the Month award goes to an employee that is looking out for the District’s bottom line; Forest Rose, Electrician in the Facilities Services Department. The three page nomination which was submitted by Chris Skerlec, Director of the Environmental Control Office, and supplemented by Bob Ashworth, included a long list of energy saving initiatives that were conceived of and implemented by Forest. Just a few of the changes made by Forest include changing the exterior lights at the Central Area Office saving approximately $2,000 per year, and replacing burnt out lights and ballasts with T-8 lamps and electronic ballasts. Forest has also placed motion sensor lights at security cameras so lights do not have to be left on all night long. The list of ideas Forest has for saving energy around the District go on and on. Without a doubt several of these suggestions will be put in place with the goal of one or more of them helping to earn Forest a Superintendent’s Efficiency and Effectiveness Award. It’s employees like Forest Rose that not only demonstrate how hard working we are, but also how smart and innovative we can be.
