Feb. 23–Ask a Librarian Day
February 23rd is Ask a Librarian Day! Did you know that Ask a Librarian is a free online service connecting the library patrons of Florida to actual librarians who answer their reference questions? With Ask a Librarian, you are connected to a librarian who will answer your question right for free at the moment you need assistance. It’s easy to use, just go to http://www.askalibrarian.org/palmbeachschool and ask your question, a Florida librarian will assist you. Ask a Librarian is a collaborative program by libraries throughout Florida and will provide you with accurate answers utilizing your state and local resources.
The School District of Palm Beach County is the ONLY school system in Florida that is a working partner with Ask a Librarian. A link on all the Learning Tools web pages and all the pages of the Professional Library connects you to the services of Ask a Librarian. The email service is available to students from inside the District network during the school day. The Chat Service can only be used from home BUT students can get help from a statewide librarian until midnight Sunday through Thursday and until 5 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays. Ask a Librarian Chat opens at 10 a.m. every day.
Ask a Librarian is a valuable service for our students. We just need to introduce them to the link and let them know how to connect from home. Celebrate Ask a Librarian Day with us. Introduce your students to the Ask a Librarian link on the Learning Tools page today !
