Spanish River High School Presents Project CRISS
Spanish River High School presents Project CRISS (Creating Independence Through Student-owned Strategies) for parents and students. Assistant Principals Ms. Chiapetta and Mrs. Calvente-Torres teamed up to present strategies for success for their students.
The workshop presented strategies for parents to help their students study at home and take notes while in the classroom and turn those notes into writing or studying pieces for tests and exams. Another session included an overview on how the brain learns and processes information. The workshop was conducted in English and Spanish.
The students that attended were selected based on the school’s Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) subgroup target in the lowest 25%. They were advised of the tutoring program during the week through the National Honor Society and the Latin American Club.
