South Tech Academy Graphic Design Student Wins $5000 Scholarship From Florida KidCare Billboard Contest
South Tech Academy, a charter school located in Boynton Beach, continues to rack up commendations and awards by its students. The latest is a statewide contest won by a South Tech student.
The Florida KidCare contest awards ceremony was held in Orlando, Florida on January 29, 2010. Michael Cardona, a South Tech Graphic Design student, was the grand prize 1st place winner for the KidCare Billboard contest. He was awarded a $5,000 scholarship and $2,500 was also awarded to South Tech.
Another South Tech student, Sebastian Spencer, was a regional winner for the Billboard contest and was awarded a $350 gift card.
“We are extremely proud of our students and the skills they exhibited in this statewide contest”, said Mickey Schemer, South Tech graphic arts instructor.
