Boynton Beach High Students Present The “Flashing Lights Concert” To Benefit “Help 4 Haiti”
If you enjoyed the Grammy’s….you will love the Flashing Lights Concert to be presented at Boynton Beach Community High on Friday, February 5, from 3 pm to 5 pm!!
Flashing Lights is a project that was initiated by students as a way to reach out to help others in need. Student directed and produced, the concert will combine student performances and special awards to outstanding students. All proceeds from the concert will be added to BBCHS “Help 4 Haiti Relief” fund. There will be amazing performances including dancing, singing, pianists and even a performance by teachers. The teacher performance was choreographed by one of BBCHS dance students.
The Junior and Senior Superlatives will be awarded. These awards were voted on by the students to be presented by students. The Golden Tiger Awards will be presented to the outstanding senior girl and outstanding senior boy. This is event not to be missed!! As the student director, Jermel Daise says, “This is my dream coming true to see this concert and awards ceremony become reality. Once the earthquake in Haiti happened, we knew that we as students need to step up and help. We are the world and as part of the world when one area is hurting, we must make a difference! ”
This is another example of the commitment that the students have made to make a difference in the world, through actions at school and in the community. Adult sponsors of this event are Blake Bennett, Assistant Principal, and Geri Grocki, Commit to Change sponsor.
Tickets are $5.00 and can be purchased during lunch or in the school office.
