Limestone Creek Elementary Celebrates Literacy Week with Disney

Limestone Creek Elementary recently participated in the “Give a Day, Get a Disney Day” program during Literacy Week. Volunteers came to the school to read to the students and earned a one day, one park ticket to Disney World. “Over 60 voracious volunteers participated in the promotion for Florida’s Celebrate Literacy Week,” said Limestone Creek’s reading coach Katherine Tierney. “Each volunteer read avidly with students for a minimum of one hour.”
This program encouraged volunteers to work directly with students in the classroom and gave them the opportunity to visit a Disney theme park free.
