Palm Beach County Cultural Council Honors U.B.Kinsey/Palmview Elementary School of the Arts Teacher
The Muse Award for Arts Educator of the Year
Jeff Fessler, 4th grade reading teacher at the U.B. Kinsey Elementary School of the Arts, was honored as “Arts Educator of the Year” at the recent Muse Awards Gala that took place at the Kravis Center, sponsored by the Palm Beach County Cultural Council.
As the first classroom teacher to receive this award, Mr. Fessler was selected for his work in integrating the arts into his reading, writing, and social studies curriculum through the development of his own lessons and collaborations with local art and cultural institutions. He also presents art integration workshops at local, state, and national conferences.
Jeff Fessler was the 2009 Humane Society of the United States Teacher of the Year, the 2008 Dwyer Award winner for Elementary Education, and is the current Palm Beach County Elementary Social Studies Teacher of the Year.
