“Eating For FCAT Success” Campaign Launches

Posted by: Natalia Arenas

The School District of Palm Beach County School Food Service Department has launched “Eating for FCAT Success” campaign to help students prepare for the Florida Comprehensive Assessment Test.  Posters and informational flyers have been distributed to the schools in order to encourage parents, teachers and community members to provide healthy meals and snacks to the students.

Good nutrition has been shown to improve concentration, memory, and the ability to think quicker. Ensuring that students get a healthy, balanced diet, consisting of the right amount of whole grains, protein, dairy, fiber-rich fruits and vegetables, and plenty of water will provide a magic formula for success in school.

The posters and informational flyers feature suggestions for healthy breakfast, snacks and dinner options. They also contain valuable tips for the students to take in consideration and are available in English, Spanish, Haitian-Creole and Portuguese.
