West Boca Drama Department To Perform Tony-Award Winning Musical Thoroughly Modern Millie March 26-April 3, 2010
The award-winning West Boca Drama Department continues its 6th season with the Tony Award-winning musical, “Thoroughly Modern Millie,” March 26-April 3, 2010. Tickets may be purchased by phone at 561-672-2066.
“Thoroughly Modern Millie” is the zany Roaring Twenties romp that took Broadway by storm! Young Millie Dillmount has just moved to New York City, a place full of intrigue and jazz. With frisky flappers, dashing leading men and a villainous dragon-lady that audiences will love to hate, “Millie” is a perfectly constructed evening of madcap merriment. Large production tap numbers, songs to remember, and a hilarious plot leave audiences humming the score and wishing for more.
The “Thoroughly Modern Millie” cast of 35 features Stefanie Anarumo as Millie, Adam Segal as Trevor Grayden, Alina Castillo as Dorothy, Bruno Faria as Jimmy, Samantha Behrman as Muzzy, Jennifer Chang and Max Zitomer as Bun Foo and Ching Ho, Stav Berlinerblaw as Miss Flannery, and Candace Zamoski as Mrs. Meers. The show is directed by Lance Blank, with musical direction by Lindsey Novitske and choreography by Angela Morando.
The West Boca Drama Department is one of South Florida’s premiere high school theater programs. Each year the department produces multiple main stage productions and children’s theater. Since its introduction in 2003, the department has won numerous awards including Best Musical for “Sweet Charity” and “All Shook Up,” as well as performing its production of “Little Shop of Horrors” in Tampa for over 7000 theater students and teachers.
