Eagles Landings Teachers Support Cancer Awareness Initiatives

Eagles Landings teachers supported the American Cancer Society and their Making Strides against Breast Cancer event that recently took place at Mizner Park in Boca Raton.
“Team Soaring Eagles collected over $1,600.00 in donations. We ended up having 14 walkers on the team. I feel it is very important to create awareness of Breast Cancer as early detection can make all the difference,” said Mrs. Melanie Clesi.
Additionally, the walk was promoted in their school television news show by 8th grader, Edward Datz. The team t-shirts were made by the Gateway to Technology teacher, Mr. Jamie Plumadore.
In the recruiting efforts, Melanie Clesi and Jill Davis encouraged students, teachers and staff to participate by sending communications and talking to students and colleagues about the importance of participating.
“I felt compelled to lead our team as my mother was a breast cancer survivor and my best friend is a survivor of 1 year and counting,” stated Mrs. Clesi.
