“Dare To Be Amazing” Shared with Roosevelt Middle School Students

Posted by: Vickie Middlebrooks

Miss South Florida, Courtney McKenzie, recently spoke to the female students at Roosevelt Middle School in West Palm Beach.  Told that she wasn’t pretty enough to compete in pageants, not smart enough to go to college, not intelligent enough to own a business, Ms. McKenzie overcame all the nay sayers by winning three pageant titles, graduating from college, and currently owning three businesses.  The three C’s that helped her to achieve her goals were confidence, courage, and character.

Ms. McKenzie’s presentation “Dare To Be Amazing” encouraged the students to have friends who were positive influences and optimistic in their outlook.  By thinking about their future and setting goals, they, too, could use their abilities to make their dreams come true.
