New National Board Certified Teachers Named
The National Board for Professional Teaching Standards announced 14 Palm Beach County teachers earned National Board Certification in 2010. Palm Beach County now has a total of 718 National Board Certified Teachers. Lisa Helfrich, Professional Development Manager for the School District said, “The School District of Palm Beach County is proud to welcome our new National Board Certified Teachers to our list of talented and dedicated educators.”
Florida leads the nation in the number of public school teachers gaining National Board Certification. The voluntary certification process takes one to three years to complete. National Board Certification is the highest credential available in the teaching profession and is a symbol of teaching excellence.
