South Tech Academy Student Designs New Logo For Choice and Career Options Department
Billy Myrtil, an 11th grade student attending South Tech Academy, recently won The School District of Palm Beach County’s Department of Choice and Career Options Logo design contest entitled “Your Blank Slate! Your Creation!”. The Logo Contest was designed to allow Palm Beach County high school students the opportunity to showcase the talents, skills, and creativity that has been fostered through our educational programs and aided in preparing them for the demands of the 21st century. The Choice and Career Options mission is to empower and support students and their families in making informed, educational decisions leading to post secondary education and career options in order to compete in today’s technology-driven, global society.
The selection process included a review of all submissions. The selections were then narrowed down to five finalists for a final vote within the Department of Choice and Career Options. The winning designer (1st place) will receive a check for $500. Additionally, the winning design will now be featured as the “new” Department of Choice and Career Options logo. The designer of the second-place entry will receive a check for $300 and the designer of the third-place entry will receive a check for $100. All designers with submissions will receive certificates acknowledging their participation. And the winners are…
1st Place: Billy Myrtil, an 11th grade student attending South Tech Academy
2nd Place: Daphnee Abelard, a 12th grade student attending South Tech Academy
3rd Place: Yoselin Armendariz, a 12th grade student attending John I Leonard High School
