District, CTA To Present Glades Teachers First Year Pay For Performance (PFP) $5,000+ Bonus Award Letters, Bigger Paychecks – Three Year State Grant Funds Pilot Pay Program

Posted by: Nat Harrington

All teachers at Rosenwald Elementary School, Glades Central High School and Lake Worth High School will receive pay for performance bonus checks next week-September 16.

District and CTA officials are visiting the two Glades schools today and Lake Worth High School next Thursday to give each teacher an award letter informing them of the amount they will receive.

The pay for performance bonus money comes as part of a three year, state-funded School Improvement Grant after the three schools, and others statewide, were identified as needing improvement. Student performance has improved.

Chief Academic Officer Judith Klinek, Chief Officer of Administration Wayne Gent and CTA President Deborah Wilhelm will present award letters to the teachers at Rosenwald Elementary at 2:00 p.m. and teachers at Glades Central High School at 3:00 p.m. today. They will visit teachers at Lake Worth High School next Thursday, September 15.

The award letters read, in part, “Congratulations! Based on our performance and your contributions in FY 2011, you are being awarded a payout under the terms and conditions of the School Improvement Grant Memorandum and Understanding (MOU) that was agreed upon between the Classroom Teachers Association (CTA) and the District at the outset of the school year.”

In addition to the maximum $5,500 Team award for all teachers, Reading, English, Language Arts and Math teachers for whom student performance data are available are also eligible for the $1,500 “individual” portion of the award.
