Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary Students Travel Around The World When School Celebrates International Week

Posted by: Vickie Middlebrooks

The students at Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary, an authorized World International Baccalaureate School, will participate in International Week Activities December 12th-December 22nd, 2011.  Students will travel around the world by participating in musical performances, projects and skits, learning and analyzing different cultures and countries around the world.

Students will also have a chance to experience how other cultures celebrate holidays around the world by dressing culturally and eating foods from other countries.

The School District is committed to providing quality educational opportunities for all students. The School Board implemented magnet schools and choice programs as a way to ensure that quality educational opportunities were available to all students in diverse settings. Choice programs are specialized educational programs that enable students to take advantage of additional resources and innovative teaching techniques that focus on the student’s individual talents or interests.

For more information please contact Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune Elementary Magnet Coordinator Beverly Scruggs-Collins at 561-882-7600 or beverly.scruggscollins@palmbeachschools.org .
