Suncoast High Club Is Pepsi Refresh Grant Finalist-Students Need Votes To Win Top Prize For Bikes For Kidz
Bikes For Kidz, a Suncoast Community High School club and a 501(c)(3) organization, is a Pepsi Refresh Grant Finalist. Pepsi is funding pre-qualified ideas that help support local communities via a contest.
Bikes For Kidz has been promoting literacy in Palm Beach County Title I elementary schools for five years through various programs like Reading Road Racers, Science Superstars and their Big and Little Mentoring programs. Hundreds of bikes and helmets have been distributed to eleven different elementary schools through the years. The Pepsi Refresh grant is an opportunity to fund even more Bikes and Helmet for additional Title I elementary students in Palm Beach County.
According to two of the organization founders, Laura and Megan Kohner, “Bikes For Kidz has a good chance of winning, but we must keep receiving votes through the end of December. Bikes For Kidz is up against other schools and organizations that have their whole school/organization voting for them; we would like to have that same level of support from our community. If Bikes For Kidz can gain enough votes, $5K will be awarded to Bikes For Kidz to spend on additional Bikes and Helmets for Title I elementary schools in our area.”
Individuals can help in one or both of these ways: 1. Text 110143 to 73774 or
2. Go to http://pep.si/uByrxB or http://www.refresheverything.com/bikesforkidz to vote via Facebook and/or email
If you vote by both methods, Bikes For Kidz actually gets TWO votes! Please vote every day that you can in December and support Bikes For Kidz.
