National Merit Corporate-sponsored Scholarship Winners Announced

Three District students earn prestigious scholarships

Three area students are among approximately 1,000 scholars from across the nation who have won corporate-sponsored National Merit Scholarship awards. These seniors were selected from students who advanced to the Finalist level in the National Merit Scholarship competition and met the criteria of their scholarhsip sponsors.

The following students are among the national winners:

Rachel Sara Anderson of Palm Beach Gardens  Alexander Dreyfoos High School

Probable career field:  undecided                                  Nextera Energy, Inc.

 Gowri S. Nayar of Boca Raton                                     Atlantic Community High School

Probable career field: neurology                                   General Dynamics

 Adityanaraya Radhakrishnan of Jupiter          Suncoast Community High

Probable career field: Math/Computer science       Nextera Energy, Inc.

Most of these awards are renewable for up to four years of college undergraduate study and provide annual stipends that range from $500 to $10,000 per year. Some provide a single payment between $2,500 and $5,000.  For more information, contact mediainfo@nmerit.net.
