Howell L. Watkins Holds Eighth Grade Transitional Ceremony
Howell L. Watkins Middle School will proudly conduct its’ annual Eighth Grade Transitional Ceremony on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, 6:30pm at the Palm Beach Gardens High School Auditorium. The Class of 2012 participated in “Do the Write Thing” Writing Contest, among other competitions. Many of the students participated in the Externship Program at Good Samaritan Hospital and are the first class to receive such an honor. These students will be recognized along with Good Samaritan Hospital at the June 20th School Board Meeting.
Delivering the motivational transitional address at the June 6th event will be the prominent trial attorney, Willie E. Gary. In addition to his law acumen, Attorney Gary is an inspiring motivational speaker, philanthropist, businessman, churchman, and humanitarian. Howell L. Watkins Principal Dr. Glenda Sheffield said, “Attorney Gary is deeply involved in charity and civic work. He is committed to enhancing the lives of young people through education and drug prevention which led to forming The Gary Foundation.” The Gary Foundation provides scholarships, educational direction, and other resources to young people so they can realize their dreams of achieving a higher education.
