Florida Public Service Union Poster Contest Winners Announced
Suncoast High School Senior Emana Sheikh took first place ($500) in the first annual “Make a Difference” poster contest sponsored by Florida Public Service Union (FPSU).
The contest awarded $1,000 to three students for artwork centered on how non-instructional employees like bus drivers, custodians and food service workers make a difference. Park Vista High School Senior Erik Guzman won second place ($300) and Dreyfoos School of the Arts Sophomore Jordan Lane Palmer won third place ($200).
“Students understand that our schools are dynamic communities that rely on great teachers, leaders, drivers, custodians, and food service workers,” said Alphonso Mayfield, President of the Florida Public Service Union. “I was so impressed with all of the artwork – a testament to the maturity and creativity of these young adults.”
Finalists’ artwork will be on display at the Fulton-Holland Educational Services Center at a later date. To view winning artwork and honors visit: http://www.seiufpsu.org/
