This summer 15 year old Dominick Avallone wasn’t playing computer games or hanging out at the beach. The incoming freshman at Jupiter Community High School was hard at work on a project to help less fortunate children. For a Boy Scout Eagle project Dominick collected school supplies and backpacks for middle school students. Earlier this month he along with fellow troop members, delivered backpacks to six middle schools for distribution to students who need them when they return to school on Monday, August 20th.
Dominick wrote letters to community organizations and area businesses seeking donations. He also enlisted the help of friends and family members. $1,300 worth of supplies and $350 in cash donations were collected.
