Educator Selected To Attend Global Forum, Recognized By National And State Leaders

Posted by: Vickie Middlebrooks

Todd LaVogue, Magnet Coordinator at Roosevelt Community Middle School was recently selected by the Microsoft Corporation as one of the 16 national winners of the Partners in Learning U.S. Forum. The annual event recognizes innovative teachers and school leaders who creatively and effectively use technology in their curriculum to help improve the way kids learn and increase student success. Mr. LaVogue will now advance to the Partners in Learning Global Forum, which will take place in Prague November 28 through December 1.

On being selected as one of only 16 winners nationwide and the only candidate from Florida, Governor Rick Scott wrote Mr. LaVogue, “I share the pride of your students, family and friends in your selection for this prestigious award.  Best wishes for success as you continue to inspire student learning and impact positive change through technology in the classroom.”  Congressman Alcee Hastings wrote, “The dedication you have shown to your students is truly inspiring and you should be proud of the impact you have made in their lives.  Educating our youth is a vitally important job that is far too often taken for granted.”

Mr. LaVogue’s accomplishment was also recently featured on the Florida Department of Education website in the Education Success Stories section.
