Atlantic High School Senior Wins Nordstrom Ten4U Scholarship
Atlantic High School senior Jessica McClintock was awarded a 2012 Nordstrom Ten4U scholarship. Managers from all the Palm Beach County Nordstrom stores and Atlantic staff surprised Jessica in school with a $10,000 scholarship and an Apple MacBook.
Jessica ranks in the top one percent of the competitive senior class. She is an International Baccalaureate Diploma Candidate and a National AP Scholar. Jessica is a National Merit Commended Scholar. She is a member of the National Honor Society, vice president of the National French Honor Society, and treasurer of the National Art Honor Society.
Jessica is an athlete. She has been a captain of the varsity swim team for the past two years. She is also a member of the varsity soccer and track and field teams. Jessica is involved in her church where she has devoted over four hundred service hours. Jessica also volunteers at a local soup kitchen and as a tutor to her peers.
High school juniors in the 31 states Nordstrom operates a full-line or Rack store who demonstrate outstanding community involvement and scholastic achievement are welcome to apply for the scholarship. Students must have an un-weighted GPA of 2.7 and must be eligible to attend a four year college or university in the United States during all four years for which the scholarship is awarded.
To apply, students complete an online application (www.nordstrom.com/scholarship) that includes a personal statement, and an original essay. Selected finalists are then interviewed in person or by video conference with a regional selection committee.
