Pine Jog Elementary Annual Enchanted Forest Promises Family Fun
The Pine Jog Elementary School PTA is sponsoring its annual Enchanted Forest on October 19th and 20th from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. This is a fun event for the entire family.
Tickets include a candlelit journey into the forest where visitors will be greeted by costumed animals like a raccoon, opossum, a bat, a lady bug, an owl, and even an itsy bitsy spider. Visitors will also enjoy games, campfires, songs, a hayride, and trunk or treating. Children are welcome to come in costume.
The Enchanted Forest is a fantastic family involvement program that brings the school’s staff, students, parents, and the community together. For one weekend, the nature preserve located adjacent to school comes alive and becomes “The Enchanted Forest.”
Guides with flashlights lead groups of 10 to 12 guests through the candlelit trails. Volunteers in animal costumes inform the visitors about themselves and how they co-exist in the woods.
Those interested in an experience that is more frightening than enlightening, can walk through a Haunted House being held on school grounds during the same time period. Tickets are $3 in advance, $5 at the door. This ghoulishly scary event may not be appropriate for young children.
The Safety Patrol will use funds raised by this event to defray the cost of their spring trip to Washington, D.C.
Additional tickets can be purchased for the stars from the Animal Planet Show, Gator Boys who will be at the event from 6 to 8 p.m. only. They are bringing animals for a “meet and greet”. The Gator Boys will also sign autographs.
Pine Jog Elementary School is located at 6315 Summit Blvd on the corner of Summit Blvd. and Jog Road. The public may purchase tickets at the events or in advance, by cash or check, in the school office or by contacting the PTA.
