Golden Grove Elementary Students Love to Read

Posted by: Natalia Arenas

Golden Grove Elementary had the highest percent of their school population registered for the Summer Reading Program this year. Each year the Palm Beach County Library System keeps track of the schools attended by the children who sign up for the Summer Reading Program. The school with the highest percentage of their student population enrolled in the reading program gets a special program in November that is funded by the Palm Beach County Library System.

Golden Grove will have a special visit the morning of November 2nd, 2012 by this year’s author of the book chosen as the 2012 Families Reading Together book, Artful Reading, Bob Raczka.

“Golden Grove Elementary is very proud that so many students registered for the Summer Reading Program and enjoyed the love of reading over the summer. They are looking forward to their special visit,” said Kathryn Koerner, Principal.

November 2012 marks the Palm Beach County Library System’s 9th Families Reading Together Campaign. This event serves to remind the community of the importance of sharing books with children and encouraging them to read on their own.

This project is made possible by community partners, including the Palm Beach County School District. Golden Grove will be receiving special bookmarks and other materials from School Media Services for this campaign.
